Welcome

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my first blog. My name is Nirav Patel. Currently, I am pursuing undergraduate study in Computer Science at San Jose State University. I am in Junior Year. Through this blog, I am sharing my technical expertise, what I find exciting in the field of Computer Science, and challenges that I can tackle in the field of Computer Science.

Technical Expertise:
My strongest areas of technical expertise are in Mathematics and computer programming languages. I like to do Math because it is interesting and entertaining to solve problems. Math is used in people’s daily activities as well as in scientific technology. Math is needed everywhere. I believe that Math holds an important part in our lives.
Other than Mathematics, there are also many computer programming languages used in this world. Personally, my favorite programming language is Java because it is powerful and simple to understand. After completing few programming classes in Java, I have a pretty good knowledge of Java language. Further, I also have a good knowledge of C++ language.

Exciting things about the field of computer science:
What I find exciting about the field of computer science is the opportunities of creativity. Computer Scientist gets opportunity to work on real world problems and solve them. Furthermore, Computer scientists design software that helps in solving various complex problems. In simple words, they make people’s lives easier and easier.

Challenges I can tackle:
I can tackle most of the mathematical challenges. Also, with the knowledge of Java and C++, I can tackle some computer programming challenges as well.

  1. Although I like math, I only simple day to day math that I would need. The highest I will go is matrix transformations for picture translation and rotation. Although you should have a solid math background if you are going to become a computer scientist because each project is different and for some you only need to understand how to add, but other that work on GPS, you need to know how to calculate distance over a curve. Although I think you are more interested it more complex math.

  2. Maths, one of the subject area which is really required in every aspect of the Computer Science field, and this lead to build up on the good analytic ability which is help full for solving problem with best suited approach.
Yes Computer Science will give lot's of opportunity, best part is CS is used in all domain and segment that you can think of, and help you to excel in that domain.

  3. I didn't know you enjoyed math that much. I have difficulties in my math classes, but I manage them somehow. The only math I've ever used in my daily life so far are the simple operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We both have an interest in computer science, so I hope we'll be able to work together when the time comes. I can learn new things from you and see your different ways of thinking when approaching a problem.

  4. Hi Nirav,
I'm so glad to hear you say wonderful things about math! As a mathematics major, I totally believe that it goes hand-in-hand with CS. That is cool that you have a good knowledge of Java and C++. I found C++ challenging as the first language to learn. You are confident in your problem solving skills and I liked that you made this clear in your last sentence. Your picture is also on point with great quality. I look forward to reading more of your posts!
